More Lies About The O9A

°°°°°°

With the recent (June 2019) jailing of two young members of a British neo-nazi group for “terrorism” offences, an anti-fascist Zionist financed group based in England with connections to British Members of Parliament, to mainstream newspapers and to television companies has stepped up their smear campaign against the Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA) repeating and adding to the baseless accusations and lies that they wrote about the O9A in their February 2019 report about the so-called “state of hate” and which report was widely publicized and widely quoted from in mainstream media.

As in that biased propaganda report {1}, in their latest piece of smear propaganda they again try to link the O9A to paedophilia and to the promotion of misogyny and rape. They also wrote that “paraphernalia connected to the Order of Nine Angles […] were found at the home” of someone accused of being a member of the now banned neo-nazi group National Action, and that “British neo-Nazis are morphing into Satanic rape gangs.”

In respect of their lie in their February 2019 report that “O9A literature regularly advocates ritualised rape,” we wrote

[quote] A study of the O9A corpus from the 1980s to 2018 – from the pro-Sapphic novel Breaking The Silence Down to the essay The Anti-Patriarchal O9A Ethos – reveals the O9A attitude toward women, with the O9A code of kindred honour embodying respect for women and gender equality and with the O9A having [according to an academic] “more female supporters than either the Church of Satan or the Temple of Set [and] more women with children.” Nowhere in the corpus of O9A texts written by Anton Long between the 1970s and 2011 does the O9A advocate rape. In fact the O9A consider rapists as suitable candidates for culling. {2} [/quote]

We even helpfully provided a link to an O9A text distributed in 2015 which suggested that rapists are indeed suitable candidates for culling. {3}

Furthermore, several O9A documents refute the smear, the lie, that the O9A condones and encourages paedophilia, with one O9A text written in 122 yf – 2011 ev – making it clear “that individuals of certain proclivities, involving children, are regarded by us as dishonourable individuals who most certainly are not of our kind.” {4}

As befits their anti-fascist fanaticism, the Zionist financed group continue to use the Big Lie (große Lüge) technique, not only repeating their allegation that Myatt is involved with the O9A while failing to provide and evidence whatsoever but also continuing to attribute quotations by other people to Myatt, again failing to provide any evidence for their allegation. {5}

As befits their simplistic way of thinking, the writers of the Zionist financed anti-fascist group also continue to commit the logical fallacy of secundum quid et simpliciter. Which is the use of particular individual cases to form a general rule to then use that rule to describe, and thence to blame, or to castigate, or to defame a whole group.

Thus they illogically and propagandistically take the example of a few individuals with certain personal proclivities and fantasies, and who may support some aspects of O9A occult philosophy and praxis, as representative of the O9A as a whole.

Meanwhile, as befits their lack of even the most basic research – and/or their desire to place lies and propaganda and hate before truth and hope – these anti-fascist fanatics continue to ignore the fact that the O9A, esoterically understood and appreciated, is at its core neither neo-nazi nor ‘satanist’ but is a sinisterly-numinous occult tradition which

[quote]
“is concerned with individuals undertaking an often decades-long hermetic anados (ἄνοδος) by which they might discover Lapis Philosophicus and thus acquire wisdom. A practical anados manifest in the O9A Seven Fold Way.” {6}

Exposing Ignorance About The O9A

Posted: April 29th, 2019 | Author: | Filed under: Inner ONA, Labyrinthos Mythologicus, O9A, O9A Nine Angles, Order of Nine Angles, Order of the Nine Angles, The Sinister Tradition, The Sinisterly Numinous Tradition | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , | Comments Off on Exposing Ignorance About The O9A

°°°°°°°°°

An Ignorance Regarding The O9A

A Modern Orthodoxy

In the past year (2018-2019) the Order of Nine Angles (ONA, O9A) has received unprecedented coverage in the mainstream Media leading to an unprecedented mention of the O9A on various internet forums and blogs.

This coverage has a common denominator: from the coverage in 2018 in America and elsewhere of the alleged link between the O9A and the American neo-nazi group AtomWaffen Division {1} to an article about the O9A on a popular youth-orientated on-line music site {2} to the recent report issued by the political, left-wing, pressure group misnaming itself as “hope not hate” {3} to coverage of that report in mainstream British newspapers such as The Independent, The Sun, The Guardian, and The Daily Telegraph, all of which newspapers made mention of the O9A.

The common denominator is the alleged neo-nazi and satanist raison d’être of the O9A and which raison d’être allegedly involves members infiltrating and manipulating “extremist right-wing” groups in order to disrupt society and which disruption is, so the Media state, apparently masterminded by a certain Mr Myatt.

Which reveals a complete – although not unexpected – ignorance and misunderstanding of the O9A, which misunderstanding could be either propagandistic and thus deliberate, and/or be due to the nature of modern mainstream Media and the nature of the internet. Which nature is to be superficial, populist, unscholarly, quick to judge, opinionated, presumptive, and often arrogant. Which nature was and is revealed, for instance, in two things.

First, in how long-established mainstream newspapers such as The Independent and The Daily Telegraph and The Sun printed stories about the O9A without getting their journalists to do their own detailed research and thus check the facts {3} with the result being that they simply reprinted – to a wider audience – the propaganda and disinformation, the “fake news”, of a political, left-wing, pressure group.

Second, in how so many people immediately believed and spread – often via the internet – what the newspapers and such a pressure group wrote, said, and published about the O9A and about Mr Myatt.

It was as if an orthodoxy about the O9A and about Mr Myatt had been created and was being upheld, with this orthodox, populist, interpretation unchallenged in the mainstream Media, unchallenged via the medium of the internet, and even unchallenged by those who pride and who preen themselves on being antinomian in respect of modern Occultism.

As mentioned, all this was not unexpected, given the nature of modern Western societies, the nature of mass Media (including the social media of the internet) and the nature – the physis – of many of the people in modern Western societies: a plebeial physis {4} quite different from the minority who in modern times uphold such principles as are enshrined in codes such as that of the O9A’s code of kindred honour. {5}{6}

The Raison d’être Of The Order Of Nine Angles

The raison d’être of the O9A will be clear to those who have undertaken a basic study of O9A texts, such as all of the following four compilations:

(i) Quintessence Of The O9A, issued in 2018,
(ii) The Esoteric Hermeticism Of The Order Of Nine Angles, issued in 2016,
(iii) The Eludent O9A, issued in 2018, and
(iv) A Compilation Of Some Recent O9A Texts, 2017-2019.

Even those who have only read Quintessence Of The O9A and The Esoteric Hermeticism Of The Order Of Nine Angles, will understand that the O9A is neither satanist nor neo-nazi nor even of the Western Left Hand Path but instead is concerned with individuals undertaking an often decades-long hermetic anados (ἄνοδος) by which they might discover Lapis Philosophicus and thus acquire wisdom. A practical anados manifest in the O9A Seven Fold Way.

That is, they will appreciate that what the Media focus upon and misinterpret – such as alleged “culling”, insight roles, satanism, alleged neo-nazism, alleged disruption of society, and Occult ceremonial rituals such as those in the O9A Black Book of Satan – are related to only one temporary part of that Seven Fold Way. Which part is that relevant only to an External Adept (stage three of seven) and which part lasts from between a year to around eighteen months after which the individual moves on to other learning experiences.

Thus correctly understood, such “sensationalist things” much hyped by the Media and others, are just a few of the exoteric (practical) and esoteric (Occult) experiences that the O9A assert can produce pathei-mathos, a learning from experience and a step toward wisdom.

Which “sinister” experiences of particular causal forms or abstractions are followed by a moving on to other tasks such as the Rite of Internal Adept where one lives alone in the wilderness for between three to six months, followed by several years of “numinous” experiences, followed by living alone for a lunar month in a cavern or dark cave and which chthonic experience is an enantiodromia where the individual goes to and wordlessly understands The Unity, The Monas, beyond all denotata, all abstractions and all causal forms.

As explained in one of the texts in Quintessence Of The O9A,
                   “both the LHP (‘the sinister’) and the RHP (‘the numinous’) are themselves causal abstractions – ideations – which hide both our own nature, the nature (the physis) of other living beings, and the nature of Reality itself.
                   For the O9A provides the individual with an opportunity to develop a perception, an understanding, a knowledge – acquired from a personal experience – beyond causal abstractions/forms and thus beyond denotatum; that is, and for example, beyond the illusion of conflicting/ideated opposites, beyond naming/denoting/words, beyond abstract morality, beyond dogma/ideology, beyond the simple principle of causation, and beyond the simplicity of a posited dialectical process.”

Conclusion

One thing is to be expected, despite this explanation and despise previous explanations of ours. This is that the Media, and the internet-created, orthodoxy regarding the O9A and regarding Mr Myatt {7} will not be challenged by journalists, nor by those who consider themselves to be rational fair-minded human beings, nor by those who pride themselves on being antinomian in respect of modern Occultism.

Indeed, we might expect the Media interpretation of the controversial O9A to become a time-limited cause célèbre given the current focus on “right-wing extremism and terrorism” and on “hate speech” and on already made demands by certain political pressure groups that the police and the security services investigate the O9A with a view to proscribing it as a “terrorist organization”. For example, The Times newspaper, formerly one of the most respected British mainstream newspapers, recently (March 2019) ran an article titled Neo‑Nazis hijack gaming groups to spread hate against Muslims that stated
                   “a Times reporter went undercover on the gaming platform Discord to infiltrate an invitation-only Satanist neo-Nazi group called The Order of Nine Angles (O9A). The group openly encouraged acts of terrorism and celebrated what was described as esoteric Hitlerism.”

However, another thing might also be expected, possibly because of this explanation of ours and/or because of previous explanations of ours. This is that a few individuals – perhaps two or three a decade – will understand and begin their own quest along the Seven Fold Way, even if or perhaps because the O9A becomes a proscribed organization with its literature banned and blogs such as this removed from the internet.

Which few individuals are all that are required, given the decades and centuries long aims of the Occult movement that is the O9A, and since the O9A, after three decades, has now reached the stage, the phase, where
                   “we can expand slowly, nefariously, in the traditional manner by the clandestine personal recruitment of suitable people, which in practice means those useful to us individually in our own lives, and potentially or actually useful to our Aeonic aims, and who also possess culture: that is, the four distinguishing marks which are (1) the instinct for disliking rottenness (an instinct toward personal honour), (2) reason, (3) a certain empathy, and (4) a familiarity with the accumulated pathei-mathos of the past few thousand years manifest as this pathei-mathos is in literature, Art, music, memoirs, myths/legends, and a certain knowledge of science and history.” {8}

For,
                   “one of the purposes of an esoteric group – a nexion – such as the Order of Nine Angles is to aid those associated with it or inspired by it to carry out particular tasks and functions; such as, via their own pathei mathos, discover wisdom (Lapis Philosophicus), develop their own weltanschauung, and thus in some manner contribute (knowingly, purposefully, unknowingly, or otherwise) to the sum total of human esoteric and exoteric pathei-mathos; which contribution may aid our conscious evolution as a species and may bring-into-being or aid the development of new ways of living, and which contribution may also be part of the necessary destructive and adversarial dialectic in respect of existing causal, human-manufactured, forms and dogma.
                  One means to aid such a discovering and contribution is and has been the structured, the methodical, the traditional, seven-fold way with its melding of exoteric and esoteric experiences.” {8}

{6} The Booke of Honor & Armes, published in 1590, is interesting both in the context of the O9A and in the context of Mr David Myatt.

§ In the context of Myatt, the book is or may be relevant to why and how he challenged several individuals – including two journalists and a member of Combat 18 – to a duel with deadly weapons for spreading lies. For the first chapter of the Booke describes “the nature and types of lies”. In other words, Myatt was upholding an old Western tradition and one which marked the difference, a distinction, between a noble person – such as a British gentleman – and those with a plebeial (plebeian) physis.

As Myatt states in his 2012 text A Matter Of Honour,
                   “I have never bothered to have recourse to civil law, and established Courts, to sue those making libellous allegations about me quite simply because the only law I believe in and strive to uphold is the law of personal honour. Given that I have challenged two journalists, according to the law of personal honour, to a duel with deadly weapons for making such malicious allegations, and given that they did not have the honour to accept this challenge or issue an apology in lieu of fighting a duel, I consider my honour vindicated and their own dishonourable character proven.”

The other person he challenged to a duel – police informer Wilf Browning – also refused to fight a duel with deadly weapons. See footnote 11 of Myatt’s autobiography Myngath (page 70, depending on the edition).

Regarding Myatt, the texts linked to at the following URL may be useful: https://omega9alpha.wordpress.com/2019/03/22/myatt-and-the-o9a/

§ In the context of the O9A, the book is or may be relevant to why the O9A has a code of kindred honour, with adherence to such a code serving to distinguish those who are O9A from those who are not O9A and who thus have a mundane, a plebeian, physis.

A difference explained in classic O9A texts such as Culling As Art, available as of March 2019 at https://lapisphilosophicus.wordpress.com/2012/08/03/concerning-culling-as-art/

A study of Order of Nine Angles texts reveals that, from the 1970s on, their ‘nine angles’ refer to the nine combinations – the “numinous symbols of cliology” (qv. the 1990s text ‘Aeonic Magick – A Basic Introduction’) – of the three basic alchemical substances (Mercury, Sulphur, Salt) which are represented in the pieces of the 1970s vintage O9A Star Game.

These nine angles/combinations were first outlined in the 1974 text Emanations of Urania, and which nine combinations can be used to symbolize how the the causal and the acausal are manifest to us, as for instance in our psyche (in the nexion of causal/acausal that we are) via archetypes, ‘personality types’, and the esoteric correspondences of the O9A Tree of Wyrd.

Furthermore, according to Anton Long his inspiration for this 1970s theory of cliology – of nine alchemical combinations or emanations – was an ancient Arabic manuscript, of a few folios, he read while travelling and studying in the Middle East and Asia in 1971, and to which MS some scribe had added some scholia and the title Al-Kitab Al-Alfak – which translates as The Book of The Spheres.

David Myatt, National Socialism, And The Order Of Nine Angles

Contents:

° Is David Myatt Still A Neo-Nazi?

“While the question is David Myatt still a neo-nazi has been asked many times over the past six or seven years – with academics such as Senholt seeming to answer in the affirmative and with Myatt himself consistently denying that he is – many items written by Myatt since 2010, and his reclusive lifestyle since 2010, seen to indicate that he is no longer a neo-nazi […]
             Correctly understood, via a thorough study of the O9A corpus, the O9A is neither satanist nor neo-nazi and as a practical movement in the real world is based more on anarchy than on anything else.”

° The Myattian Saga Continues

“In the decades long and on-going saga of whether or not David Myatt is or was Anton Long of Order of Nine Angles fame some of Mr Myatt’s latest writings are intriguing and seem to provide more proof that, as he has maintained all along, he is not and was not Anton Long, founder of the O9A…..”

Which aspects are (i) Occult knowledge – esoteric and pagan traditions, Greco-Roman, Arabic, and Persian – absent from other manifestations of modern Western Occultism; (ii) the link which the O9A has through this knowledge to those ancient traditions; and (iii) the scholarly research done by the authors of such O9A texts.

The scope and contents of the texts serve to distinguish the O9A from all other modern Occult groups be such groups described as Occult, Satanist, or of the Western Left Hand Path.

The Nihilist O9A

°°°°°°°°°

Some caveats aside, there is – at least in our view – a fairly insightful analysis of the Order of Nine Angles published in 2017 in an article with the title Order of the Nine Angles and Supremacy of the Fringe.

Which item hints at what the ONA is really all about and just how it differs from the boring ‘satanism’ of Levey et al. Here are just a few of the interesting points made in that analysis.

{begin quote}

§          The popular notion of Satanism rarely lays stress on the political aspect of it. Seemingly, its radical individualism submits the ideological ambitions to the needs of individual self-expression – or self-indulgence – rendering it to a large degree a-political, at least at first glance. When we come to deal with the sinister dialectic of O9A, we are soon forced to realize that deep down the real stress is precisely on politics; the politics taken in the most radical sense of inciting the end of the present world (Aeon) and the creation of the new man and the new world.

§         The idea of influencing the broader society by subversion ranging from inducing moral depravity to terrorist acts is the nucleus of O9A metaphysics.

§         What really makes O9A stand out is how high it sets the bar: every other conceivable form of radical politics can potentially be assimilated, provided it is genuinely directed against the system, towards the creation of the new world and the new man. Through it all it is astonishingly truthful to the principles of modernity – radical subjectivity and dissolution of it in the further radicalization of freedom, evolutionary principle driven to the extreme and technical approach to human inner life.

§         The purpose of [the] trickster [insight] role playing game is to create strife, chaos, confusion and – Satan willing – bloodshed in order, not only to open oneself to the chaos of acausal, but also to create the same disposition in the social groups and society at large.

{end quote}

Finally, perhaps the most interesting bit of all:

{begin quote}

§         In a strictly philosophical sense this truly is a form of Satanism. What makes it ominous is that, when you ponder about it a bit, it really isn’t detached from presuppositions of the mainstream, seemingly anti-metaphysical, notions about man and history. O9A has an ontology and metaphysics of Satanism, but it is fairly in accordance with both extreme empiricists and supposedly opposed Heideggerian understanding of getting over the metaphysics (überwindung der Metaphysik): rejecting the error of transcendence towards above. The only step needed to develop what would properly be called ‘subphysics’ is to draw the final consequences of this decision.

{end quote}

For what the ONA really amounts to – in our view – is Chaos (χάος). Bringing the chaos of the acausal into our temporal (causal) world. By any means possible, and without any checks or balances, such as ‘God’ or even ‘Satan’ as described by both Nazarenes and by material egoists such as Howard Levey.

In this sense, the Order of Nine Angles really is nihilist, anarchic, and redefines what ‘modernism’ – metaphysically and in reality (esoterically and exoterically) – means, or perhaps should now mean.

Part One:

The Nine Angles Of The O9A

I. The Tree Of Wyrd And The Star Game: An Overview.

Herewith a useful overview of some of the renaissance alchemical, and the ancient hermetic, roots of the Order Of Nine Angles.

The above is a Renaissance illustration of the septenary Tree of Wyrd, from the book Azoth Sive Aureliae Occultae Philosophorum published in 1613 CE, which illustration includes the three fundamental alchemical substances, Salt, Sulphur, Mercury, whose nine transformations form the “nine angles” of the O9A and which nine angles are represented by the pieces of the O9A’s Star Game thus:

Both of the above illustrations were included in the O9A text ἀρρενόθηλυς: Alchemical And Hermetic Antecedents Of The Seven Fold Way Of The Order Of Nine Angles. {1}

The Star Game itself is an esoteric representation of the septenary Tree of Wyrd. That is, of the nexion between the acausal and the causal and which nexion is also represented by our psyche as human beings, a complex psyche hinted at in many medieval and Renaissance alchemical texts {2} and in modern times – for example by Carl Jung, whose inspiration was Renaissance alchemical texts – represented in terms of archetypes, a collective unconscious, the anima and animus, and ‘a shadow aspect’. {3}

The septenary Tree of Wyrd also represents the anados (ἄνοδος), the hermetic journey or alchemical/occult quest up through the seven spheres, anciently described in the Poemandres tractate of the Corpus Hermeticum {4} and described in more recent times by the Seven Fold Way of the Order of Nine Angles {5}.

Which overview reveals that the Occult tradition of the O9A is independent of, different from, and an alternative to the Qabala based tradition used by the majority of modern Occultists. {6}

II. Extract from the 2013 text Originality, Tradition, And The Order of Nine Angles. {1}

A study of O9A [Order of Nine Angles] texts reveals that, from the 1970s on, their ‘nine angles’ refer to the nine combinations – the “numinous symbols of cliology” (qv. the 1990s text ‘Aeonic Magick: A Basic Introduction’) – of the three basic alchemical substances (Mercury, Sulphur, Salt) which are represented in the pieces of the 1970s vintage O9A Star Game. These nine angles/combinations were first outlined in the 1974 text Emanations of Urania, and which nine combinations can be used to symbolize how the the causal and the acausal are manifest to us, as for instance in our psyche (in the nexion of causal/acausal that we are) via archetypes, ‘personality types’, and the esoteric correspondences of the O9A Tree of Wyrd.Furthermore, according to Anton Long his inspiration for this 1970s theory of cliology – of nine alchemical combinations or emanations – was an ancient Arabic manuscript, of a few folios, he read while travelling and studying in the Middle East and Asia in 1971, and to which MS some scribe had added some scholia and the title Al-Kitab Al-Alfak (which translates as The Book of The Spheres), for in ancient Muslim alchemy and cosmology there are nine cosmic spheres or ‘supernatural’ realms. {2}

The most distant of these spheres or realms is falak al-aflak, the ‘primary of the spheres’. Below this (and thus nearer to us) is al-kawakib al-thabitah, the realm of the heavenly fixed stars. Next is Zuhal, the sphere of Saturn. Then there is Mushtari, the sphere of Jupiter, followed by Marikh (Mars); Shams (the Sun); Zuhrah (Venus); Utarid (Mercury); and finally Qamar, the sphere of the Moon.

The Dark Art Of Shrenching
(pdf)

Those curious about the Order of Nine Angles (ONA, O9A) who turn toward the four fictional stories that make up The Deofel Quartet expecting to find ‘horror’ stories or stories of bloody satanic sacrifice, or graphically described sexual or fetishistic satanic rituals, or de Sade like violence, sadism, and dominance, may well be disappointed […]

Nowhere is the dissonance between such expectations – of stories of horror, blood, sacrifice, sex, fetishism, satanic rituals, and sadism – and the Occult reality of The Deofel Quartet greater than in the story titled The Greyling Owl.

This fictional story – of some 130 pages – was published in 1986 ev and is set in and around the English city of York in the year 1976, with the story revealing “how the O9A often operates, and has operated, in the real world” for decades […]

What is described is The Dark Art Of Shrenching, otherwise known as Sinister Cloaking. A difficult Dark, Occult, Art to master involving as it can deceiving others about one’s intentions, and/or entrapping others for some sinister purpose.

In the O9A the most obvious use of The Dark Art Of Shrenching is in Insight Roles […]

Yet The Greyling Owl describes a somewhat hitherto neglected part of O9A tradition. Which is that Shrenching may also be a necessary part of those who, via the Seven Fold Way, have progressed beyond The Abyss and who thus have attained the Occult grade of Master of Temple, or Mistress of Earth […]

Anti-O9A Propaganda Exposed
(pdf)

Since the Order of Nine Angles (O9A, ONA) publicly and controversially emerged on the Occult scene in the 1980s – with its affirmation that human sacrifice was part of traditional Satanism, and with its Mass Of Heresy in praise of Hitler – many self-professed modern ‘satanists’ (who follow the modern materialistic, law-abiding, ‘satanism’ developed by Howard Stanton Levey, aka Anton LaVey) and many self-professed followers of the modern, kabbalah indebted, Left Hand Path invented by the likes of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and Aquino’s Temple of Set, have spread propaganda and lies about the O9A.

For the fact is that the O9A presented “a dangerous and extreme form of Satanism” {1} and directly challenged both the modern materialistic ‘satanism’ developed by Levey and the modern, kabbalah indebted, Left Hand Path with its Hebrew Otz Chim.

Thus it is not surprising that the anti-O9A crowd, following or indebted to or inspired by Levey-type ‘satanism’ – or following or indebted to or inspired by a kabbalah indebted Left Hand Path – would spread such propaganda and lies about the O9A.

For O9A folk were – in all but name – modern Occult heretics, given their promotion of National Socialism, given their holocaust denial, given their affirmation of the necessity of human sacrifice; given their tough physical challenges such as spending at least three months living alone in the wilderness; and given their practical Insight Roles lasting around a year whose “sinister-numinous” options included being an assassin or a burglar or a monk or a medic or a police officer.

O9A folk were also heretical in terms of their Occult philosophy, promoting a septenary system in place of the accepted Hebrew Otz Chim with its ten-fold sephera (a Hebrew system used by all non-o9a modern Occultists) and claiming that their septenary system represented the genuine Western Occult tradition and pre-dated the Hebrew Otz Chim by centuries.

We present here a few of the most popular propaganda statements made, and lies spread, about the O9A by the anti-O9A crowd, together with the “heretical reality” which debunks each of those propaganda statements and lies.

Occult Sigils: Some Questions For O9A Novices

Sigils In Medieval And Renaissance Occult Texts
(pdf)

Part I: The Picatrix
Part II: Sigillum Dei Aemeth And The Septenary System

°°°

Extract from Part I:

In two previous notes we touched upon the difference in some of the Occult sigils in the 11th century (CE) Arabic manuscript Ghayat al-hakim and those in the manuscripts of the Latin Picatrix dating from the 14th and 15th centuries (CE).

While some of the differences in the manuscripts are undoubtedly due to scribal errors and unintentional emendations, other differences may well (i) reflect how the scribes – or the editor(s) or authors of later printed texts – naturally and perhaps in a well-intentioned way evolved the symbolism in accord with both their apprehension of the manuscripts and/or their apprehension and understanding of contemporary Occult texts and praxises, and/or (ii) reflect the judgment of the illustrators or typesetters of later printed texts in respect of representing them on the printed page.

It is therefore interesting to compare some of the differences between the sigils of the Arabic Ghayat al-hakim and those in the Latin Picatrix, especially as such sigils were regarded as important in the crafting and use of talismata.

For one question which a practitioner or an aspiring practitioner of The Dark Arts might well ask is whether or not such later, emended, sigils were as effective as the earlier ones. Questions which practitioners or aspiring practitioners of The Dark Arts should answer themselves as a result of practical Occult experimentation.

[Two] such differences are illustrated below:
